INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM 1984
- The giant bats around the mountain palace flap and flock just like WOO’s flying monkeys in scenes over witch’s lands. See Raiders of the Lost Arc, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Minority Report, The Lost World of Jurassic Park, The Adventures of TinTin.
- The soldiers who grab the Willie are wearing turbans that resemble the same kind of big furry hats distinguishing the witch’s soldiers’ uniforms.
- In the temple, Indy, Willie, and Shorty surreptitiously watch the disciples put lights in a giant skull while their scary chanting underlines the danger. This brings to mind the witch’s soldiers in front of her castle chanting… “Oh Lee OHN, A hol OHN” or however you translate WOO’s marching ditty.
- The posters and promos alone testify to Steven’s predilection for red and yellow.
